In the face of ongoing genocide, we recognize our existence within a liberation struggle—one that demands reflection on our past and present experiences, as well as a commitment to utilizing all available tools to resist the systematic erasure of the Palestinian people in all their diversity and forms of existence.
The "Masahaat" project is issuing this call to action with the goal of encouraging cultural actors, academics, artists, and community activists to question, experiment, and participate—practices we view as essential for consolidating and asserting our presence, safeguarding our collective memory, and stimulating the cultural movement. This initiative is facilitated through the sharing of their works and projects, while also providing a space for engagement and discussion.
"Masahaat" continues its role in providing an independent space that encourages Palestinian artists and cultural institutions to present their own cultural and artistic content, express themselves, and freely share their work with the public. This contributes to and builds upon the broader liberation process.
In a spirit of cooperation and openness, this edition offers interested parties a variety of spaces and facilities within institutions in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, including A.M. Qattan Foundation, Ramallah Municipality, the Palestinian Museum, Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center, Riwaq – Center for Architectural Conservation, and Al-Bireh Cultural Center. Furthermore, to expand and facilitate participation, this call will remain open throughout the year.
This edition of "Masahaat" addresses the very need that led to the project's launch—a need that has only intensified due to increasing restrictions on freedom of expression and their impact on artists and cultural institutions. We emphasize the role of culture in mobilizing thought, action, and influence.
