The Qattan Centre for Educational Research and Development (QCERD) is a registered UK charity whose primary mission is to assist Palestinian teachers acquire new skills and improve their knowledge base. The Centre aligns itself with the principles set out by official institutions such as the Ministry of Education, as well as independent institutions and non-governmental organisations and universities that are actively involved in planning and providing educational services.
QCERD believes that the Palestinian people should become producers rather than mere consumers of knowledge, and that a good education system is a vital asset to any society, particularly one engaged in a process of reconstruction and nation–building. QCERD is therefore committed to promoting standards of excellence in school-based education, through applied research and professional development for teachers.
