My Country’s Heritage
This programme emphasises that our heritage is the source of our originality and that preserving and building on it to pass on to future generations is imperative. It promotes the belonging of future generations to their identity, their people and their heritage. The programme, implemented by the Centre since 2013, aims to achieve its objectives through a range of cultural, artistic and dramatic activities. It focuses on Palestinian cultural heritage, especially archaeological sites in Gaza. This programme was created due to the poor targeting of children in other programmes dealing with such issues, in addition to the need for children to identify their heritage using different methods, most importantly through drama in the context of learning. The Centre annually celebrates World Heritage Day, which falls on 18 April, and organises the Rosana heritage festival, culminating at the conclusion of the programme.
